Established in 1884, our precision handcraft business is known worldwide for our quality tuning forks for various uses. Located in one of the most beautiful countryside in the center of Germany, in federal state Thueringen the name Barthelmes-Stimmgabeln guarantees for quality by tradition.
From the start to the present, the Bathelmes family has managed the business. In 1996, we were awarded a DIN EN ISO certificate by the Thuringia TÜV (Office of Technical Standards).
The high quality specialist tuning forks we manufacture, are used in the fields of medicine, education, music, bell-testing and organ building.
Additionally, we also produce tuning forks to order, for example with adjustable pitches.
Tuning forks manufactured by the Arno Barthelmes specialized workshop in Zella-Mehlis are important instruments in simulating acoustical phenomena for ear , nose and throat specialists and neurologists.
Tones are classified according to the established musical scale. The standard base pitch is a1 at 440 Hz and a1 at 435 Hz. Other base pitches and vibrations are available. We also manufacture tuning forks in a frequency range of 16 Hz to 5000 Hz
